Adding a User
Every User ID must be given access to eTIMS®
subsystems and permission to perform tasks within those subsystems.
eTIMS®access and permissions
can only be assigned by an authorized Security Administrator. The
scope of eTIMS®
access and permissions is determined by your position responsibilities.
Subsystem
permissions dictate levels of processing authority such as the ability
to only view information on a page or the ability to complete a particular
processing action. Permissions
vary from subsystem to subsystem.
Access to eTIMS®
subsystems and permissions within those subsystems can be assigned
by:
- Selecting each subsystem and permission individually,
or
- Copying the subsystems and permissions of an existing
User ID to the new User ID
To Add a User:
- Type the User ID in the New User ID box (this is a required
field).
- Type the First Name in the
First Name box (this is a required
field).
- Type the Last Name in the Last Name box (this is a required field).
- The checkbox next to Go to Select Subsystems will be checked
by default.
To de-select the option, click on the checkbox to clear it.
- Click on the Add
New User button to refresh the page with the new User ID listed
in the Search Results area of the page and receive confirmation that of
the addition. The
new User ID will be the only User ID displayed on the page.
- Click on the User
ID hyperlink to advance to the Select Subsystems page.
- To select subsystem and permissions
individually:
- The checkbox next to
Go to Select Subsystems will be
checked by default.
- Click on the Add
New User button.
- To copy subsystems and permissions
from an existing User ID:
- Type the existing User
ID into the Copy Permissions From
box.
- Click on the Add
New User button.
- Click on the table name tab
at the top of the page to select another table to maintain.
- Click on the Home
command in the upper right corner of the page to return to the Home
page.
- Click on the Help
command in the upper right corner of the page to see Help contents.
- Click on the Log Out command
in the upper right corner of the page to end your eTIMS®
session.
- To fast path to another eTIMS®subsystem, use
the drop down box in the upper right corner to select a subsystem. Click
on the Go button to display the
selected subsystem menu.
Notes:
- New User IDs must
be created in TOP SECRET before assigning eTIMS®
access and permissions.
- Middle initial should
be added to the first name in cases of duplicate or common names.
- The Add New User
function is not available to View Only Users.
- Disabling access
to eTIMS®or
permissions will eliminate that access/authority from the User ID.
